Compared to others in the same class like bracelets and anklets, experts believe that necklaces are more beneficial since they are worn in a position or place where they can concentrate more energy to vital body organs. Here's more on the accessory and how you may also benefit.

Info on Magnetic Necklaces

Magnetic necklaces were created in conjunction with magnetic therapy. Since magnets have shown to be quite effective in dealing with several systemic problems in the human body, more and more versions are developed to enhance its so-called healing effects. Necklaces are also bigger in size compared to anklets and bracelets so the magnetic force is also amplified. Most of the magnetic strength will be focused on the head, neck, shoulders and upper back.

The necklaces are closer to vital organs like the heart and lungs so people think that this strategic positioning will do the greatest amount of good to their body. The heart will be able to function better pumping more blood as well as the lungs supplying large amounts of oxygen to different parts of the body. Take note that there aren't any proven scientific methods or studies that can truly show the true effectiveness of magnetic necklaces and magnets. There are however, millions of people who have reported noticeable and sometimes significant advantages with the application of strong magnetic fields.

Necklace Designs

A variety of materials are used to provide enough magnetic energy to individuals such as gold, silver, stainless steel, tourmaline titanium, hematite and ceramic. These are all magnetized with strengths ranging anywhere from 2,000 to 60,000 gauss. Some experts say that gauss readings are not very accurate since several magnetic points comprise a single piece of charged metal but at least you have an idea about the range of the true strength.

The magnetic necklaces have so many designs so individuals can feel free to choose the right style, color and pattern that suit their lifestyle or the occasion. There are sporty designs made of links that are lightweight with lobster or easy lock clasps. The clasps are very secure with most models also magnetized for extra safety. All components of the necklaces are handcrafted according to the specifications of the buyer. These are all waterproof and never rust or tarnish.

The More Stylish Ones

More stylish designs come with charms or a pendant made of neodymium. The pendant and charms themselves are magnetized providing at least 2,000 gauss. Some manufacturers allow custom-made pendants just for you. You will find wrap-around necklaces, bead necklaces made of hematite and ceramic and studded ones. Some are composed of two or more metals like gold and copper or silver and titanium. These are very durable and elegant which are perfect for any casual or formal occasion. You may also include gemstones like ruby, amethyst or sapphire for more color.

Simple magnetic necklaces with fine links or made of stainless steel can cost as low as $10.99 up to $20. Price will tend to increase as you choose more expensive metals and add more detail. If you intend to invest in more fashionable ones, you may have to shell out around $120 to $800. You will find several beautiful pieces at designated jewelers and online jewelry stores.

By Susan Barcelon
Chintyahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01280681068259293455noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5864147414535982445.post-67993864475291842932010-07-10T06:55:00.001-07:002010-07-10T06:55:40.726-07:00Magnetic Therapy: Effect on your DNA

The utilization of the magnet in the field of medication is not new but is continuing for hundreds years. There has been a massive change in the pattern of approach. With the emergence of new technology, magnets are being utilized in a more advanced way to normalize the body functions. The Smart Magnet is the product of the new invention, which has certain magnetic frequencies programmed into its magnetic pattern to max out the effect on a specific area of the body.

Magnetic therapy with the help of smart magnet activates the DNA when these magnets are held close to the skin. The explanation of its working has been cleared in the biophysics. It is vital that the DNA in your cells should receive a good magnetic energy so that it is able to instruct your genes on how to continually maintain the 5 ‘R’ level. You must wonder reading this article what these 5 ‘R’ stands for? The 5 ‘R’ are
1. Replenish
2. Rebuild
3. Replace
4. Rejuvenate
We know that there are to sources of energy; the food we eat which is the direct source of energy and the sunlight, which is considered as the indirect source of energy. Apart from these two types of energy there is one more source that provides us with energy and this is magnetic energy that is vital for our survival. The different sources of magnetic energy are the earth's magnetic field, the good or natural foods you eat, the sun, from man made devices, supplements in ionic form and other people that radiate a positive attitude.

The alteration of good DNA energy existing in your body due to the interference of suppressors like electrical devices and appliance for example; Televisions, Cell phones, Microwaves, High electrical tension wires, Computers screens, etc can lead to premature aging, sickness, or terminal illnesses. Even when the food is overcooked the magnetic energy of these food is completely diminished.

Your DNA needs to be fully charged with magnetic energy so as to provide your genes the right information to build healthy cells and this energy can be obtained by eating a variety of raw food with its own frequency and it is these magnetic frequencies that activate and promote your DNA to perform its natural function of directing the genes to produce a healthy body. Failure for your body to rebuild itself will results in a distressed immune system and premature aging. Smart Magnets give you the added magnetic energy to your own internal power. Once charged stop using it but continue eating good charged food to protect yourself from destructive magnetic energies.

By Gordy
Chintyahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01280681068259293455noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5864147414535982445.post-3735526354806273272010-07-10T06:54:00.001-07:002010-07-10T06:54:33.042-07:00GETTING STARTED WITH MAGNETIC THERAPY
First some caveats. Magnets are not meant to be used with pacemakers or automatic internal defibrillators. Nor in cases of pregnancy. There are some other basics to know about magnets. To begin with the power of a magnet. The strength of a magnet is measured by a gauss meter in gauss units power by the iron weight it can lift (the term gauss denotes the electromagnetic unit of magnetic flux density equal to one maxwell per square centimeter). For example, a magnet that can lift two pounds of iron weight has 530-600 gauss power; five pounds of iron weight has 900-1250 power; 25 pounds has 2500 gauss power. The magnet's strength is determined by its size, weight and the type of materiaI it is made of.

Magnetic therapists have general guidelines for magnetic use. Magnets with 1000 to 3000 gauss power are recommended for chronic diseases like rheumatism, paralysis, backache and injury to large muscles. More delicate parts of the body such as eyes or ears require less gauss power of around 500. 500 gauss should also be employed when treating children.

The depth of penetration of a magnetic field into the body is another important factor in magnetic healing and is in direct relationship to the size of the magnet as well as its gauss power. A magnet can have a strength of over 10,000 gauss but if it is small it might only penetrate an inch or two into the body. But a magnet of 4x6 and 1000 gauss can penetrate the body completely (magnetic energy has not been fully standardized in terms of application for all diseases, but a rule of thumb for use established by the Japanese Ministry of Health and Welfare is a minimum of 500 gauss for any significant illness).

Drinking magnetically treated water is another way to reap the benefits of magnetic energy. Magnetically treated water is relaxing to the body. Put an 8-ounce glass of water on the negative pole of a magnet for five minutes or longer and drink twice a day as a general preventative.

Lastly, scientists have been recording the strength of the earth's magnetic field over the past 158 years and they claim that its magnetic field, and subsequently the intake of magnetic energy into our bodies, has been reduced by more than 8% in that time (this rate of decline has been verified by measurement of the decrease of north-south orientation of magnetite crystals in deposits in volcanic flows and sediments that date hack as far as 4,000 years). As the human body is electromagnetic by design composed of charged particles such as atoms and ions-advocates of magnetic therapy say that chemical and electrical actions of the body can be strengthened by exposure to the right kind of magnetic fields.

The range of healing using magnetic energy has been found effective in treating complaints from acne to asthma, but knowing the proper gauss strength, how and where to place a magnet on the body and the duration of exposure to magnetic energy are variables that a trained practitioner would know best. Keep an open mind as you explore this alternative therapy, but be practical and find a therapist who can help you to maximize its benefits rapidly and safely.

Source: Newlife, July 1996
Chintyahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01280681068259293455noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5864147414535982445.post-7199943019949364182009-06-21T20:43:00.001-07:002009-06-21T20:43:29.315-07:00Magnetic Therapy - What Is It?
Magnet therapy involves the use of a magnetised device placed on or near the body to either facilitate healing or relieve pain.

The magnetic products available today come in many types. They can be attached to the skin, worn as jewellery, placed in your shoes, or slept on. Arthritis, carpal tunnel syndrome, insomnia and headaches are among the list of ailments for which many people claim can benefit from magnet therapy. Although no one is sure how magnets work, supporters claim that they can have a profound effect on the body, particularly in the area of pain relief.

The use of magnets for medical purposes is not new; the ancient Greeks believed that natural magnetic rocks had therapeutic powers. In the sixteenth century a Swiss-born alchemist and physician, Philippus von Hohenheim, purportedly used magnets to draw illness from the body. Over the past decade, magnet therapy has become increasingly popular, especially among professional athletes who use it for aches and pains. Nearly 80 touring golf pros now use some form of magnetic therapy for help in relieving, muscle soreness, back pain, arthritis, and other ailments. Even so, magnet therapy remains controversial. Scientists have only recently begun the scientific research needed to persuade most mainstream doctors to add magnets to their medicinal arsenals, although the British National Health Service (NHS) has recently (March 2006) recommended doctors to prescribe magnetic knee wraps in preference to drugs.

How Does It Work?
The theory behind magnet therapy is that the fields produced by magnets can affect the functioning of individual cells in the body and improve the working of the nervous system and various organs. Exactly how the magnetic fields do this is unknown, but there are several theories. Some say that the electrical current created by magnets interrupts the transmission of pain signals in the nerves. Others claim magnets increase blood flow to an area, boosting the flow of oxygen and other nutrients, thereby reducing pain and swelling.

What You Can Expect
It is believed that magnets must be placed precisely to have an effect (they work best when placed over a body area that has some degree of intact circulation). Therefore it is best to do magnet therapy under the guidance of a therapist or doctor who is experienced in its use.

However, many people choose to use magnets on their own.
If you are trying magnets for arthritis or other types of pain, you may be advised to purchase small magnetic devices that can be secured to the body elastic bandages, or Velcro.
Depending on how much pain you are experiencing, you might be advised to keep the magnets in place for as little as five minutes or to wear them for a number of hours every day for several weeks. If you are trying magnets to help with insomnia, your doctor may advise using a magnetic pillow or mattress pad.

Health Benefits
Magnetic therapy is most often used for pain, usually of the muscles, joints and back. Magnets have also been used to relieve post-surgery pain. Some suggest that magnets can reduce stress, as well as relieve insomnia and treat migraine. Others even claim that magnetic therapy can fight infection and improve central nervous system disorders, such as seizures. While research has shown that magnet therapy can indeed relieve pain, there is little solid evidence proclaiming its use for other ailments.
One study, published in the American Journal of Pain Management in 1999, showed that magnetic foot insoles were shown to be effective in reducing foot pain in those with diabetes.

How To Choose a Practitioner
Magnet therapy may be practiced by a therapist or doctor, or it may be self-administered. It is best to work with an experienced practitioner who is knowledgeable about the therapeutic use of magnets.

Ria has been an holistic practitioner since 1990 and she has trained in many fields such as cranio-sacral therapy, shiatsu, reflexology, reiki, aromatherapy, Bach flowers, crystal healing, psychotherapy, counselling, fytotherapy, TT and nutrition. Ria focuses on the underlying causes of disease rather than treating symptoms alone. She has been a certified therapist since 1996 and has developed an extensive practice dedicated to creating total wellness and self-empowerment based on the body, mind, soul connection.

By Ria Vervliet
Chintyahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01280681068259293455noreply@blogger.com4tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5864147414535982445.post-70515674124480797102008-05-23T23:17:00.000-07:002008-10-16T01:18:27.883-07:00Ultra Long Wave Magnetic Therapy
Ultra Long Wave Magnetic Therapy uses electromagnetic waves that contain similar fields with our Earth. In addition, Magnetic Ultra Long Wave produces higher density wave to improve our organs’ functions.

Professor T Fujiyama, after successfully conducting tests on plants, discovered that the waves are capable of penetrating all kinds of matter, including non-conductors such as wood, glass and rubber. As such, it can penetrate the human body and stimulates the cells.

It improves the nervous system and internal functions of cells.

His theory includes:

1) Our cell’s magnetic pole is the same as the waves from Magnetic Therapy. This causes a push between the two. Thus it results in increased productivity in the

2) The ionized blood cells will become more active and its blood will flow more smoothly. Therefore, it improves the healing of wounds.

3) Magnetic Ultra Long Wave produces 60 vibrations per second to revive inactive lymph and immune system.

Experiments have shown that this Magnetic Therapy increases the growth rate of small animals. It also increases the diameter of its capillaries up to twice its size to lower the blood pressure. The functions of Magnetic Ultra Long Wave include:

1) Penetrates our body to uproot the cause of sickness

2) Gives heat to the body and stimulate the metabolism of cells.

3) Improve blood circulation by vibrating the red blood cells

4) Stimulates the synthesis of new and old cells. It improves body’s immune system.

5) Improve healing process together with intake of medicine.

6) Take care of kidneys and enhance hormone excretion

Ultra Long Wave Magnetic Therapy enhances the cell’s immunization against radiation. For more than ten years, Magnetic Therapy has been used to improve patients suffering from high blood pressure, apoplexy, heart diseases, asthma, unstable hormone secretion and fractured bones. Today Magnetic Ultra Long Wave can be used for almost any ailment.

This type of therapy does not produce any side effect. On the other hand, one may feel the following after receiving this therapy:

1) Feel refreshed with active metabolism

2) Adequate blood circulation and ample oxygen

3) Fights fatigue and improve body immune system

4) Clears discomforts such as headaches and phlegm

5) More stamina, better concentration and healthier body

Professor Ouchi of Taiwan National University, Dr Tulai and Pohtolei, lab biologist of New York University and Showa University of Japan, found that Ultra Long Wave Magnetic Therapy produces amazing results. Well, this is untrue. All human and animal bodies are electromagnetic in nature and this fact is closely allied to the chemical balance of the body which can be in either a healthy or an unhealthy state.

It is now known scientifically that a healthy body contains fluids that are slightly alkaline and that an unhealthy body is acidic. A poor diet can make the body acidic and in this state all sorts of dis-eases will thrive. (Dr John Millward MD, "Your Life in the Balance", available on our website.)

It is also known that at damaged sites in the body, exists a positive electrical charge which affects both the chemical balance the electrical balance in the area resulting in pain. In order to effect healing, the body's own systems send a negative electrical charge to the area. (Dr Robert Becker, "The Body Electric")

This healing action of the body is easily restricted by poor diet, lifestyle, alcohol, drugs etc. There is also a lot of evidence of something called "Magnetic Deficiency Syndrome" being a major contributor to restricting the body's ability to respond to illness. I will be looking in depth at this syndrome in a later article.

It is now firmly established that a negative magnetic field, provided by a geomagnetic north pole magnetic field (the same as the Earth's North Pole), is the most natural way of providing much needed support for the body's own immune system.

Dr W Philpott MD, a practitioner of magnet therapy for over 40 years explains that negative magnetic fields oxygenate and alkalise by aiding the body's defences and helping to relieve pain. Further, they combat inflammation and infection and enhance deep restorative sleep.

This latter point is extremely important. In order to combat maladies that result from the stress of our current lifestyles, the correct amount of good quality sleep is essential. Combine this with the possibility of at least reducing the amount of powerful drugs taken and what results is a completely natural complementary therapy.

It is probably wise at this stage just to say that anyone reading this article that is undergoing a course of treatment with a health professional should not stop the treatment but consider using magnetic therapy in support. Also, magnetic therapy should not be used if any electronic implants are present in the body.

Given the correct choice and placement of magnetic device, this is probably the most effective alternative therapy available. Typical successful application results in 80 to 90% of cases, higher with some forms of dis-ease. Magnet therapy can be applied by you whenever and wherever needed. Modern materials technology has produced small powerful inexpensive magnets which can be used anywhere on the body and can be moved about to find the best positions. Among the recent discoveries is the use of magnetic field therapy. Although it was used even during the time of Cleopatra, it is only recently that it has gained favorable popularity. Luckily, most doctors and practitioners in the field of science have openly welcomed this procedure. These new discoveries only highlight further the need to carefully choose family physicians to employ, as they must have a wide array of options to cure the patient effectively.

Now, the Magnetic Field Therapy can be used to cure a variety of ailments. However, one cannot undergo treatment immediately. Before being prescribed this treatment and undergoing it, the doctor will first perform a check-up, discuss pertinent ailments and examine the patient very well. This will entail obtaining the adequate laboratory information, as well as x-rays in order to properly diagnose and prescribe the treatment. After all the data has been gathered and a working diagnosis has been completed, the doctor will likely proceed to discussing alternative treatments.

The concept of magnetic energy or magnetic therapy dates back to many centuries ago. In fact, legend has it that Cleopatra wore magnetic bracelets as well as necklaces for their healing powers. Although doctors have been performing this technique since the 1800s and early 1990s, the therapy went out of favor for a considerable period. In the present decade, this therapy flourished well enough that it had become a 100 million dollar industry. The boom of the business helped the therapy gain popularity in countries like France, Japan, India and China, particularly for its capacity to heal soft-tissue injuries.

Doctors have sponsored long-term studies in order to arrive at a standardized method of use of magnets in treating diseases. Today, there is a standardized size and strength for the magnet. Studies as regards to the duration of exposure to the magnet in order to heal certain diseases were also concluded. As a result, we are now well-informed as to which kind of magnet will work effectively--information that is vital in determining which parts of the body are viable locations and which ones are not. In a scenario of unawareness of which locations in the body are viable, one may run the risk of putting a magnet on one precise part of the body that may not trigger the whole body's healing power. On the other hand, sleeping on a magnet mattress pad emits a magnetic field that can infiltrate equally into all the part of the body and thus boost the entire immune system.

Because of the growth of the magnet therapy industry, many magnet products have been created and produced that can help provide information for those seeking treatments for numerous body conditions. One of the most frequently used magnetic products is the magnetic mattress pad, which can help cure insomnia, muscle spasm, joint pain and even fibromyalgia. Other popular products include magnetic insoles for shoes, which can help alleviate the pain from feet inflammation and help prevent the progression of said inflammation to bone spurs. These magnetic insoles also treat gout and improve blood circulation. Moreover, other products like magnetic pads and wraps, which can be placed on the lower back, elbows and knees, are helpful for arthritic joints, carpal tunnel syndrome and inflamed tendons. It is believed that magnet therapy can also cure serious health problems like cancer, arthritis, fractured rib, brown recluse spider bite, shoulder pain, swollen eye, tiredness and many others.

The benefits of the treatment are adequately accessible. If you plan to subject yourself to this effective Magnetic Field Therapy, it may be wise to begin by consulting a qualified doctor about it.

By Michael Russell
Chintyahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01280681068259293455noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5864147414535982445.post-64328342753923774422008-04-24T02:57:00.001-07:002008-10-16T01:26:34.899-07:00Magnetic Therapy - Fact Or Fiction?
Magnetic therapy is often regarded as one of the health practices that is one sided- many either disbelieve in it entirely or believe it is real from ‘experience’. It has been said that magnets could be used in therapy to treat broken bones and depressions, although there is no firm medical evidence for this.

A process called transcranial magnetic stimulation, or TMS, has been used to treat mental disorders such as depression. Many have seen the ads on television about the magnetic bracelets that ‘increases blood flow, cures arthritis pains, and relaxes muscles’. The only evidence that this is true is a single experiment done in 2004, which proved it could help osteoarthritis in the hip and knee.

Many see the process like acupuncture- not a direct treatment, but something to ‘help’ the body along. The magnetic bracelets sold most likely don’t work, for it is the magnetic field in general that does the healing, not the magnet. If you are serious about trying the process, consult someone such as an acupuncturist to tell you more about it- not the people in the local health shop.

Magnets don’t cost much, and don’t hurt anyone- making it the perfect sales pitch to entrepreneurs looking to make a quick buck. Further research is being conducted, but it is often hard to control all of the parameters necessary for a successful experiment.

Some think magnet bracelets act like a placebo- but if you think it works for you, than you should obviously continue using it. If you are skeptical, it is probably better you wait for more research to be published before buying the next expensive magnet bracelet.

By Eric Hartwell
Chintyahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01280681068259293455noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5864147414535982445.post-13029331610888935982008-03-31T22:22:00.000-07:002008-10-16T01:28:26.292-07:00Is Magnetic Pain Relief Real, Or A Hoax?
Magnetism is one of the core forces of the universe, according to modern science. It is also among the most enigmatic, seemingly capable of generating a multitude of effects that seem wholly unrelated to it. So it is no surprise that some people believe that there is a plausibility behind the seemingly ridiculous idea of magnetic pain relief. At the moment, the idea is hardly considered scientific fact, but some research groups are taking the concept seriously.

This is primarily because there have been no verifiable, concrete details on whether or not magnetic pain relief concepts work, which means that the argument could still go either way. That is, until a more definite answer can be found.

At the moment, there is no verifiable scientific evidence that says magnetic pain relief actually works. Any reports of tests

that have conclusive evidence have turned out to be fraudulent, or the results could not be replicated by independent groups.

In the latter case, it can sometimes be a sign that the studies are rigged or that the results are invalid. However, there is

a healthy amount of anecdotal evidence suggesting that it does work. While not everyone who has tried using it has stated

that it works, there is a large enough number of them to make it worth noting. Most researchers that take magnetic pain relief seriously believe that there are probably a few variables that determine whether the technique will work or not.

In the medical industry, there are basically two types of magnets being utilized. The first is the static magnet, named such

because the field it generates does not change with environmental conditions. The other type would be the electromagnet, which only generates a field whenever an electric current is passed through it. Of these two types, only the former is made commercially available, albeit in a limited capacity. Electromagnets are used only under the supervision of a medical professional, if they are used at all. Reports coming in from tests conducted on both types are conflicting, with some reporting positive effects while others indicate no effects at all. This effectively renders the whole thing inconclusive.

The possibility of a placebo effect coming into play during the use of magnetic pain relief has also been suggested. Some skeptics have suggested that the anecdotal evidence may be nothing more than the result of the placebo effect. The patient believes in the effectiveness of the magnets so much that the body reacts to the belief of getting better, though nothing is really being changed or treated. However, there is not enough evidence to prove that this is the case.

Some scientists have noted that, while magnets may not play a role in relieving pain, it might not be harmful to try it. As far as medical science is aware, using magnetic fields to help fight pain in patients does not have any harmful side effects on the body. There is no guarantee that it will have a positive effect, or any effect at all, but so far, no one has reported any pain-related conditions becoming worse after magnetic therapy.

By harvey
Chintyahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01280681068259293455noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5864147414535982445.post-63560506761595367662008-03-14T21:46:00.000-07:002008-10-16T01:34:02.449-07:00Magnetic Therapy – Can it Help You?
Magnetic therapy has been around for centuries and is gaining popularity and effectiveness in today’s world. Magnetic therapy is a safe, effective, alternative source of pain relief for muscle and joint discomfort. Magnets are non-invasive ways of helping the body heal itself with out adverse side effects. This is an excellent choice for everyone.

Magnetic therapy works by helping the chemicals within the body to move to the affected area. For a body part to heal the site must be restored to its natural state. Pain and inflammation is removed from the area and oxygen and nutrients are moved into the affected area.

Magnetic therapy is safe. Complications should not occur if magnets are used properly. However, if you have a pacemaker, defibrillator, insulin pump or other electro-medical implants you should not use magnets.

Magnetic jewelry can be worn daily so you get continuous therapy. Magnetic jewelry can provide pain relief in your joints. There are two ways that magnet jewelry can provide a stimulus to increase endorphins, a natural way to gain pain relief and help in circulation. This helps to flush out toxins which may be a cause of pain in the body. By using magnets as self-help health care alternative to pain relief of neck, wrist, shoulder, knee, back, elbow or ankle, one may feel relief within a few hours or a few minutes. A beneficial side effect from using magnets could be increased in energy to help carry you through your busy day(s).

Magnetic wraps, braces or supports can be used by athletes or the general population to help heal joints caused by injuries or osteoarthritis to one’s arms, legs, hands, and wrists. By increasing blood circulation to a specific joint(s) the healing time and pain relief is shortened. Magnets can help prevent muscle spasms that occur with pain associated with joint pain.

Arthritis sufferers are probably the largest portion of our population that uses magnetic therapy. Many people often wonder why they waited so long to start magnetic therapy after receiving relief in a short amount of time.

By Mary Isaacs
Chintyahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01280681068259293455noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5864147414535982445.post-65710170342270946232008-03-14T21:45:00.000-07:002008-10-16T01:30:12.530-07:00Do Magnets Work?
The scientific explanation behind magnet therapy is that the magnetic fields produced by magnets (generating electromagnetic current) penetrates the human body thereby affecting the functioning of individual cells and improve the various disorders by taking care of the entire body system. Precisely how the magnetic fields do this remains a mystery, but there are several hypotheses. Some say that the electrical current generated by magnets reprieves the transmission of pain signals in the central nervous system. Others claim that magnets enhance blood flow, increasing the flow of oxygen, and resultantly diminishing pain and swelling. It keeps us pondering "do magnets work"?

What You Can Expect

It is a common belief that magnets work best when placed over a body area that has some degree of intact circulation. Therefore it is ideal to do magnet therapy under the guidance of an expert massage therapist or a doctor. Many people choose to use magnets on their own, however.

For those who question that " do magnets work?", here are some examples.

If you are experimenting magnets for arthritis or another type of pain, you may be advised to buy small magnetic systems that can be tightened to the ailing body part with elastic bandages, tape, or Velcro. These magnets generally produce a magnetic field ranging from 300 to 400 gauss--about ten times powerful than the magnets on your refrigerator. (The intensity of magnetic flux is measured by gauss.) Some people presume that magnets may work in part for conditions like arthritis because attaching them to the nauseous joint acts like a limiting movement, splint.

The time period to undergo a magnetic therapy depends on the type of pain you are experiencing. It can vary from five minutes to a number of hours everyday for several weeks. You can be suggested to use magnetic pillow or magnetic mattress for insomnia, which may generate as much as 4,000 gauss, which may generate as much as 4,000 gauss. (The gauss level should be higher when the magnetic source is farther from the body.)

To date, there has not been enough research completed to determine what, if any, gauss intensity is high enough to be deleterious. Due to MRI (magnetic resonance imaging) machines produce magnetic fields as high as 15,000 gauss with no known deleterious side effects. Magnet therapists claim that the therapeutic magnets is are safe since it poses no health risk. Therefore those who pose the question" do magnets work?'' the only answer is, " yes, they work."

By Allan Wilson

Chintyahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01280681068259293455noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5864147414535982445.post-16880674069308983892008-02-20T16:05:00.000-08:002008-10-16T02:05:39.023-07:00Principles of magnetic products in design

Magnetic therapy belongs to physical treatment area, it refers to dosage of magnetic field in designing, different intensity magnet has different enfluences,it should that the designing of magnetic field not only be good for human body, but also without bring strong influences, it's not fact that the strong the magnetic field is, the better for human. Even In the United Kingdom the Health authorities and Doctors at Imperial College London administered intense magnetic pulse stimulation to people suffering from leg ulcers using magnetic wrap and to people suffering from partial damage to their spinal cord. These and several other recovery has lead to the manufacturing of different products ranging from bracelets to mattresses or blankets.

It is believed that magnetic therapy involves enlarging of blood vessels, thereby increasing the rate of circulation within your body. This is followed with the increase level of oxygen in your blood and that helps to flush out toxins that have accumulated in your body and the result is good health. Some people believe that magnets have the capacity to reduce negative energy in the body while others even believe that magnet encourage healthy tissue to generate minute electrical currents which provide a stimulus to promote the faster healing process.

The claim that magnets increase blood circulation that leads to healing and recovery of several ailments has become a controversial matter. It is said by the critics of magnetic therapy that if there were a significance increase in the circulation of blood then region of the skin under the magnet would become red. Tests involving measuring blood flow when an area of the body subjected to a high magnetic field also have found no increase in blood flow. All these studies points to the ineffectiveness of the magnetic therapy. Even it has been found and concluded after several research that magnetic insoles compared to the placebo insoles usually made of aluminum foil showed no significant benefit. Therefore it can be concluded that though magnetic therapy is currently considered to be an alternative medicine but lack of good controlled studies is working against the proponents of magnetic therapy.

By Gordy
Chintyahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01280681068259293455noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5864147414535982445.post-20016239102409112102008-02-07T22:48:00.000-08:002008-10-16T02:12:16.016-07:007 Things You Didn't Know About Magnetic Therapy
If you've been considering magnetic therapy jewelry for any kind of pain, you may be confused by what you've seen advertised. You may also not be convinced that applying magnetic therapy for pain will work for you.

You may or may not be surprised to learn that if you're looking at magnets, you're not alone. The use of magnets worldwide is highly popular. In fact, it's been estimated that over 120 million people use magnets worldwide. But even so, you may not have been exposed to certain information about this treatment. Here are 7 things you probably didn't know about magnetic therapy for pain or other ailments.

1. It is a known fact that magnetic fields affect living tissue, despite some mistaken claims to the contrary. Certain types of mental illness are treated with pulsed magnetic fields. Researchers at Yale have shown that this treatment reduces the "voices" that schizophrenics hear in their heads.

2. For many years, Tibetan monks have used static magnets to relieve depression. We now know that pulsating magnetic fields can relieve severe depression. According to researchers, pulsed magnetic fields affect cells deep inside the brain. Many who wear magnetic jewelry claim a renewed sense of well-being.

3. Pulsed magnetic fields alter bones and tissue, and they are used to treat slow-healing fractures, knee pain, neck pain, and even muscle tears.

4. In Japan, studies have shown that static magnets help to relieve pain in the neck and shoulders. The Japanese have been using magnets for generations, and one out of every eight Japanese sleeps on a magnetic bed.

5. After a personal experience with magnets, Dr. Ronald Lawrence began doing studies on his patients. Dr. Lawrence used magnets to treat carpal tunnel syndrome. In a 22 patient study, 91 percent showed improvement when using magnets for carpal tunnel syndrome.

6. In 1999, researchers at New York Medical College discovered that magnets were effective on nine out of 10 diabetic patients with nerve pain. Since the results of those with the fake magnets were significantly worse, the researchers recommended magnets for all patients with nerve pain.

7. For many years, Vanderbilt neurologist Dr. Robert Holcombe used static magnets to relieve back pain. He said that the pain relief from magnets can be as effective as a shot of morphine.

As evidenced by studies from around the world, as well as anecdotal reports, magnetic therapy can help with many conditions. These conditions include high blood pressure, back pain, peripheral neuropathy, neck and shoulder pain, accelerated wound healing, and even reducing the side effects of chemotherapy.

The most popular application by far for magnetic therapy as a self-treatment is for pain relief, and magnets continue to gain popularity in the United States. As Dr. Dr. Michael Breen pointed out in an article in the Chicago Sun-Times in 2000, magnets are in wide spread usage in many cultures. This a testament to their effectiveness.

By Gordy
Chintyahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01280681068259293455noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5864147414535982445.post-57404125534132331882008-01-21T20:46:00.000-08:002008-10-16T02:13:37.225-07:00Magnetic Therapy, The Facts (and Some Myths)
Is magnet therapy regarded yet as a mainstream therapy? I consider it is not and through this series of articles I hope to raise awareness by examining a number of issues that have stood in the way of mass acceptance.

There is a useful parallel to be drawn between magnetic therapy and acupuncture. Acupuncture today is an accepted alternative therapy but 20 or 30 years ago it was regarded with deep suspicion. So what has happened to make it so popular now that many conventional health clinics have a professional acupuncturist on hand to provide the therapy?

Well, the passage of time has allowed communication of the obvious benefits actual patients have enjoyed by having a wide variety of symptoms relieved. If one reads the information available at http://acupuncture.com/ the science behind acupuncture is still largely theoretical and involves “the common ground shared among meridian system, chakra system and modern sciences” Basically, acupuncture is a successful discipline that encourages the body to heal itself.

(It is worth noting here that the general description of what acupuncture does, includes words such as “electromagnetic fields” and “polarity”. Terms which also are used in any consideration of magnetic therapy.)

So, acupuncture has become accepted mainly because of anecdotal results and any number of successful blind trials. Virtually the same situation that magnetic therapy finds itself in today!

The ‘sceptics’ and ‘doubters’ will tell you there is no basis on which magnet therapy can work; but they said the same words with regard to acupuncture all those years ago. They will tell you there is no clinical proof that magnetic therapy does anything. This too is untrue, but like anything it depends on how tests are carried out and what is being measured.

It is also good to keep in mind; these are both ‘alternative therapies’. Alternative, to what? To the medical and veterinary establishment who maintain they have the monopoly on curing all biological bodies with drugs and surgery and radiation. (I acknowledge there are dedicated individual health professionals and vets, who do have wellness as their main priority for us and our animals.) There have been many occasions down the ages when new innovations and discoveries have been discredited by those with a vested interest in their failure.

Further fuel for the sceptics and doubters rhetoric is that there are many companies and individuals ‘out there’ who, looking to jump on a band, will sell you a product that may be totally inappropriate for your needs. ‘Dealers’ who sell magnetic therapy items have, in my experience little or no knowledge of how the therapy works or able to provide help and advice as to the correct application. It is these people who generally cannot be bothered to find out, will tell you, “it is not known why magnets work only that they do”. This is untrue and in my next article I will examine why and how magnets effect the functioning of the biological body.

By Barry Dench
Chintyahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01280681068259293455noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5864147414535982445.post-38053103924658595882008-01-21T20:37:00.000-08:002008-10-16T02:16:39.725-07:00How Magnetic Therapy can help break the Poor Sleep Cycle

Dear Back Pain Sufferer,

Can you remember a time, when you actually had a good nights sleep and woke up feeling refreshed? If you’re struggling to remember, then chances are, you can probably relate to Katie’s story. Read on..

Katie Blake, age 39, a married mother of two from Somerset, UK, began suffering from chronic back pain after a near fatal car accident which occurred in January 2006. She has recently been feeling very low, due to lack of sleep caused by her back condition. When asked how her back pain had been affecting her sleep, here’s what she had to say,

“Since suffering with chronic back pain after the accident, I’ve found that I constantly toss and turn from one side to another just to try and get some relief.

There are nights when the pain seems so unbearable, almost as though my lower back is splitting in two; that trying to change sides literally leaves me in tears. So, I prop myself up with cushions and try to force myself to lie still on my back, only to wake up as stiff as a board the next morning.

When you’ve got to get up early, to sort out two young kids on after virtually no sleep at all, well, what can I say, it’s no laughing matter is it!”

Unfortunately, Katie’s story is not an isolated one. In fact, just like you, she is among one of the thousands of chronic back pain sufferers, whose quality of sleep is affected in a negative way, by their pain.

Two Thirds Of Back Pain Sufferers Have Sleep Trouble

A recent study conducted by the National Sleep Federation revealed that:

? As many as two thirds of chronic back pain sufferers have sleep trouble.

? The more severe the pain, the more likely it is to affect sleep

? Disrupted sleep can make the pain feel worse

? Traditional pain relief medication, such as analgesics can disrupt the sleep patterns and make getting to sleep more difficult.

Vicious Cycle

So as you can see, it’s pretty much a vicious cycle where you find it difficult to get to sleep because of the pain and the less sleep you get, the worse the pain feels.

Assuming you’ve been in the position, where you’ve experienced insomnia; you’re probably familiar with the effects it can have on your body, such as:

* Feeling un-refreshed and lacking in energy the next morning

* Poor concentration levels

* Feeling irritable

* Impaired ability to think and speak

In a moment, I would like to offer you a glimmer of hope in the form of a natural therapy that might just help you break ‘the more pain equals less sleep cycle’, that you’ve probably become accustomed to.

Therapeutic Powers

Today, I’d like to share information with you, about a therapy that promotes the deep and restorative sleep that has been eluding you all this time. I’m talking about the natural therapeutic powers of Magnetic Therapy.

You’re probably wandering what Magnetic Therapy can do for you; well, let me begin by telling you what it is.

Magnetic therapy can be defined as a safe, natural and non-invasive method of applying high strength magnetic fields to the body for therapeutic purposes. It is a form of complementary therapy based medicine used to treat certain medical conditions by exposure to permanent or pulsed magnetic fields.

It is truly a time-tested therapy, which has been around since 2000 BC. The Ancient Chinese, Egyptians, Indians and Greeks were among the first to use it and give recognition to its’ therapeutic benefits.

I feel it’s important to say that Magnetic Therapy isn’t used as some sort of mystical cure for ailments or diseases. Instead, it’s natural forces are used to kick-start your bodies own systems in to action. Next, we look at how it does this.

When high strength magnets are placed directly above the site of injury or near a major artery, they generate a localised Magnetic Field that is powerful enough to penetrate right through the skin and bones, down to the cells.

This magnetic field also triggers a chemical response, which causes the iron content in your blood to become responsive to it. This reaction results in improved blood circulation. One of the functions of blood, is to transport oxygen and nutrients from the heart to the cells, tissues and vital organs in the body.

Consequently, as the blood circulation system begins to improve, the knock on effect is that more oxygen and nutrients are transported directly to where it’s needed, i.e., to the damaged cells and soft tissues at the site of pain or injury.

On receiving the required fresh supply of blood, oxygen and nutrients, the bodies own healing processes can begin to work on repairing the damage to the cells and soft tissues at an accelerated rate. Whilst the bodies essential repair works get under way, the brain sends out signals to release the internal painkillers i.e. the Endorphins that get on with the job of relieving the pain.

As well as stimulating the bodies healing processes, the Magnetic Field also relieves pain, by tackling any inflammation present. It does this by drawing out excess fluid and toxins from the surrounding tissues and then expelling them on route via the Liver and Kidneys. Once the excess fluid and toxins are removed, the swelling will begin to reduce.

Now, you recall that earlier, I mentioned about Magnetic Therapy ‘promoting deep restorative sleep’, well stay tuned, because we’re going to get into that next.

Magnetic Therapy In Your Sleep

Here’s a fact for you,

Scientific research conducted by a key specialist in the area of Magnetic Therapy, namely, Dr. W.H. Philpott MD of Oklahoma has shown that effects of magnets are at their most powerful at night, and here’s why. Every living thing on this Earth is dependent on Magnetic Energy. In fact, the earth itself is a huge magnet, and as such produces natural Negative Magnetic Energy force.

During the day, we are exposed to the Positive Magnetic Force from the Sun and Negative Magnetic Force at night from the Earth.

The following explains the effects that each type of energy has on the human body.

Effects of Magnetic Energy

Positive Magnetic Energy from the Sun

* Promotes deep and restorative sleep

* Supports the healing process

* Decreases inflammation and relieves pain

* Increases cellular oxygen

Negative Magnetic Energy from the Earth

* Stimulates wakefulness

* Inhibits the healing process

* Can increase inflammation and aggravate pain

* Decreases cellular oxygen

According to Dr. W.H. Philpott’s theory on the effects of Magnetic Energy, the Pineal gland, located in the centre of the head, acts as a sort of control centre for the immune system, hormones, and enzymes in our bodies.” This gland actually contains Magnetic crystals, and is acutely sensitive to the effects of Magnetic Energy.

The Pineal gland secretes the sleep hormone Melatonin throughout the night, when the Earth’s Negative Magnetic force is dominant.

The body requires high levels of Melatonin to enable a good night’s sleep.

Significant advances in magnet technology have enabled scientists to duplicate the Earths negative energy and harness it in form of high strength magnets.

Therefore, when you use magnets to surround yourself in a Magnetic Field at night, the effects are intensified for two reasons, 1) The Earth’s Negative Magnetic Energy is at it’s most powerful and 2) The body is in its’ resting and healing phase. As such, you are able to benefit from:

* A deep restorative sleep that will leave you feeling energised and refreshed when you awake

* Improved circulation that will feed your cells with those vital nutrients and oxygen to enable faster healing

* Reduced if not eradicated aches, pains and inflammation

* The effects of the bodies resting stage, which allows the body to heal itself more efficiently at night.

Hopefully by now, you can begin to see how using Magnetic Therapy can help you break, the vicious more pain less sleep cycle.

In addition, it may interest you to know that there are self-help Magnetic Products readily available that are specifically designed, to provide this nighttime therapy. They are Magnetic Bed Pads or Magnetic Mattress Covers. These products have a series of high strength magnets sewn inside them. In addition, they have been clinically proven to be a safe and effective form of natural pain relief.

So, as I bring this article to an end I just want to say, don’t let back pain continue rob you of the deep restorative sleep that your body so desperately needs. Give Magnetic Therapy a try, who knows, it could work for you.

Donna Gray

DISCLAIMER

* The information in this article is intended for educational purposes only. The problems that the therapy helped to alleviate are still present in the modern world, therefore it is logical that the method used to ease these problems before can still be used today. There are many products available today which can perform this magnetic therapy. Each group of products has a different design and can help with diverse problems, normally in the area around the place where the product is worn. Magnetic therapy has general benefits that most products will provide you with in addition to the specialized benefits that are received from the therapy.

The general benefits of magnetic therapy include enlarging the blood vessels, thereby increasing the rate of circulation within your body; this in turn helps to increase the level of oxygen in your blood and also helps to flush out toxins that have accumulated. These are believed to be the root causes of the general pain relief that can occur once you start using these products.

There are many categories of products which can perform the magnetic therapy, including magnetic jewelry and magnetic wraps, magnetic car seats and magnetic insoles, pulsed magnets as well as magnets for water and magnets for health and beauty. Within these general groupings are many smaller groups of products which are normally grouped by what the product is and whereabouts on the body it is placed. Examples of this are back wraps within the magnetic wrap category and necklaces within the magnetic jewelry category.

The area of you body that you place your magnetic therapy device on will be more strongly affected; the closer the magnetic product is to it. If you wish to relieve pain in the ankle then two of the most appropriate options for you are an anklet or a magnetic ankle wrap. These can relieve numbness of the lower leg and can relieve pain in the joints by keeping the joints dry in addition to relieving pain.

Magnetic therapy can also be used for cosmetic purposes since it can dilate the blood vessels, toxins are flushed away and if the magnet used is a facial magnet, for instance a magnetic facial mask, then toxins can be flushed away from the facial area and, due to the fact that toxins cause wrinkles, the therapy can leave you looking younger and have a face which feels refreshed and rejuvenated.

The magnets you use should be chosen with care and consideration of what functions you need the magnetic therapy products you buy to perform. The magnet you buy should perform the functions you need and preferably a little extra, but ensure that you are buying an appropriate product because while a magnetic necklace can benefit you greatly, it will not aid a pain in your ankle as well as an anklet or ankle wrap. Above all, relax and enjoy the benefits of the magnetic therapy flowing through your body.

By Juliette
Chintyahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01280681068259293455noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5864147414535982445.post-3468666853123418812008-01-21T20:30:00.000-08:002008-10-16T02:21:34.225-07:00Magnetic Therapy for Pain Relief
Magnetic Therapy is making a comeback worldwide, companies are selling magnetic underlays for all sizes of beds, and they come in Cotton or Genuine Sheeps Wool.

There are small sized units, to fit on the wrist, fit on the waistband of underwear, belts to fit around your back, your knees or just about anywhere that you are likely to suffer pain. Some ladies are using a magnet that fits on the waistband of underwear at the front, when they are suffering menstrual pain, and they swear that it eases the pain.

It has been claimed as a drug free alternative for insomnia, headaches and migraines, by sleeping with a magnetic pad in the pillow, it reacts on the Pineal Gland which is in the center of the brain and responds to a magnetic field.

Magnetic Therapy, is not new, it has been around for about 3000, years, it was supposed to have started at that time in India. The red dot worn by some Indian women on their forehead, was originally made from a magnetic powder. It was put on a important nerve point midway between the two eyes, an area that some believe is the third eye, it supposedly calmed down the brain and reduced stress, thereby keeping the ladies looking beautiful.

Magnets work on the circulatory system by making the blood flow faster and at the same time refining the blood. This helps the body to dispose of waste and toxins. A number of health problems are frequently due to a sluggish circulatory system and magnets appear to overcome a lot of these problems.

Science has shown that by placing a magnetic field next to the body, a bioelectric activity occurs. At the cellular level, it is the trace elements of Iron and Potassium in the blood that are drawn to the magnetic field causing a mild effect in the blood stream.

A large number of people feel heat when sleeping on a magnetic underlay, this is quite normal, this increases vasculation, oxygenation, balancing of energy flow and stimulation of the Lymphatic System.

Magnetic Therapy today is being used to treat many illnesses and painful conditions, it is a Natural Therapy, that really has no adverse side effects, you should increase your intake of pure water, to help the waste and toxins flush from the body, you might feel a little hot, but if you are in a cold climate, this is probably a beneficial side effect.

Scientists are researching the therapy and the benefits of treating colds and flu arthritis, reduction of stress and nervous problems. It has even been tried on people with partial damage to the spinal cord.

A number of famous people are using Magnetic Therapy, including Hollywood Stars and even one ex US President. Magnets have become an interest to the medical world. The powerful effects of healing through magnetism on thousands of patients, has caused some doctors to have another look at the situation.

Magnets themselves of course don’t heal anything; they stimulate the body into healing itself.

The body has a Natural Healing system installed at conception, this is the Immune System, but if it does no harm, why not give this system a bit of a boost along. The Immune System has quite a struggle in our modern day, fighting the effects of Chemicals, Pesticides, Herbicides gasses and a million other things that we eat, drink and breathe daily.

By Alfred Jones
Chintyahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01280681068259293455noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5864147414535982445.post-1215890159384271772008-01-21T20:29:00.000-08:002008-10-16T02:22:43.098-07:00Magnetic Therapy, How And Why Magnets Effect The Body
Have you ever read or have been told that "it is not known why magnets work"?

Sleeping on magnets provides a most efficacious application.

In the next article in this series, I will be looking at the subject of magnets, their strength measurement and a complete explanation of polarity.

By Barry Dench
Chintyahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01280681068259293455noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5864147414535982445.post-51655345786694274852007-11-20T23:58:00.000-08:002008-10-16T02:30:19.764-07:00What is Magnetic Therapy?
1. - What is magnetic therapy?

The unique component of magnetic therapy is E.M.F. which stands for a multi-directional Electro Magnetic Force which relieves pain and promotes healing.
2. - How does magnetic therapy work?

No one knows for sure. One theory is that the magnetic field affects the iron component of the blood and therefore increases the circulation. Another theory is that this magnet field provides energy and extra oxygen in the white blood cells which help with their main function as the fighters of infection, thus decreasing the amount of pain and inflammation and aiding the body to recover homostatis.
3. How can magnets help me?

Poor circulation can be blamed for many illness. By using magnets, the effects of the following conditions, can be eased, migraine, neck, back and leg pains, period pains, depression, arthritis, rheumatism and many more.
Good circulation in the body is one of the keys to good health, it takes oxygen and nourishment around the body and clears away the waste products that if left build up and cause ill health.
The magnets, which are used in magnetic therapy, are accepted as safe by the World Health Organisation but as a precaution certain people should not use them

1. Pregnant women
2. Those fitted with pacemakers or any other medical devices or implants
3. Anyone working with high voltage machinery
4. After surgery, because magnets may interfere with the healing process.

4. - Is there anything else that could be considered a drawback?

Magnets are 100% safe and non-invasive but they should be kept separately from any other electrical
appliances such as televisions, computers, computer discs, cassettes and credit cards, as their magnetic fields may interfere which each other.
5. - What is "Gauss strength"?

Gauss is a measure of a magnet's magnetic field strength. Generally the surface gauss of a magnet is used in descriptions of the strength of biomagnets. The gauss strength of 2000 is recognised to be one that is benefical in pain management and this is the strength that we generally used in all our jewellery.
6. - How long does it take to work?

Everyone is different, but the feedback we receive, indicates the effects are averagely felt between one to two weeks of using magnetic therapy, although some people have reported improvements within the first 24 hours.
7. - Should I stop using my normal medicines?

No, the information provided on our website is not meant to replace of supersede any instructions that you have given by your doctors or the medical profession. Firstly, let us have a look at what is blood pressure and what leads to high blood pressure. Then, review what magnetic therapy devices can be used to lower blood pressure.

What is blood pressure?

The heart is a small but very powerful pump that beats steadily throughout your life, circulating five litres (more than 10 pints of blood) around the body every minute. The smaller blood vessels through which the blood passes produce a resistance to blood flow. The pumping of the heart against this resistance creates the blood pressure necessary for the circulation of the blood. This circulation is essential for nutrition of the major organs, such as the heart, kidneys, liver and brain, providing the vital oxygen and nutrients necessary for life. So, everyone needs to have a blood pressure to maintain their circulation!

When the heart contracts, the highest pressure it produces is called the systolic pressure; when it relaxes, the lowest pressure is called the diastolic pressure. Both of these pressures are important in determining the risk of heart attack and stroke, so both will be measured by your doctor. A normal blood pressure in a young person might be around 130/80 (often described as 130 over 80) - this is shorthand for a systolic pressure of 130 and a diastolic pressure of 80. We start thinking blood pressure is high when it is above 160/100.

Understanding high blood pressure

Blood pressure is vital to life whilst high blood pressure can be a threat to it. A permanently raised blood pressure leads to an increased tendency to blood vessel damage, and blood clot formation which may result in heart attack, stroke, or kidney failure. High blood pressure affects one in six of us. High blood pressure tends to run in families. Ironically, you may be totally unaware that your blood pressure is high. Apart from rare exceptions, there is no cure for high blood pressure. Taking anti hypertensive drugs lowers blood pressure, but when stopped, the blood pressure rises again.

Magnetic treatment for high blood pressure

Although there is no known cure for the majority of people suffering with high blood pressure, it is possible to treat it very successfully. Mainstream treatments include water tablets(diuretics) and high blood pressure tablets (anti hypertensives: beta blockers, ace inhibitors and calcium channel blockers).

Magnetic therapy can also be used to treat high blood pressure by eliminating excess fluid in the body. When a person is first diagnosed with high blood pressure the first course of treatment a doctor will try is diuretics, the aim of water tablets is to eliminate fluid from the body this is a side effect of high blood pressure ( particularly the extremities: hands, feet and ankles). The excess fluid puts pressure in the heart and this in turn increases blood pressure.

The primary aim of diuretics is to get rid of the extra fluid so that blood pressure is reduced, as the workload of the heart reduces. Magnetised water has a natural detoxification effect on the body, drinking at least 4 glasses a day will eliminate excess fluid (plus toxins stored in the fluid) from the body. This has the same effect a that of diuretics in that as the fluid is “off loaded” the workload of the heart is decreased and blood pressure is reduced.

In addition to drinking magnetised water, blood pressure can also be reduced by wearing a magnetic bracelet or magnetic strap around the wrist. The radial artery is situated in the wrist and is one of the bodies main arteries. When a magnetic field is applied over the radial artery, the magnetism is rapidly absorbed and distributed around the whole body. Blood flow is improved around the whole body and the heart ,the whole circulatory system receives increased oxygen which in turn increases oxygenation of the organs and tissues, as a result of the improved oxygenation the heart does not have to pump so many times a minute to ensure enough oxygen is supplied to the body and this reduces the workload which will automatically reduce blood pressure.

Although these 2 magnetic treatments for high blood pressure are extremely effective and will give results very quickly, it is important to remember that high blood pressure medication should not be stopped suddenly. If you use magnets to treat your high blood pressure ensure that your blood pressure is checked regularly by the GP or practice nurse. When your blood pressure has reduced your doctor will reduce your medication accordingly.

By Debbie Shimadry
Chintyahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01280681068259293455noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5864147414535982445.post-20966299437601477842007-11-20T23:32:00.000-08:002008-10-16T03:00:11.882-07:00Magnetic Therapy for Pain Relief
Historically it is reported that magnets have been around for an extremely long time. Magnets were first documented around 2500-3000 years BC. Their origins are first noted in Asia Minor in a vast land called Magnesia. The earth there was enriched with iron oxide which attracted metals to it. The locals named it Magnetite.

Another story is told of a young boy, who lived 2500 years BC, called Magnes — a shepherd on Mount Ida. One day he was tending his sheep whilst wearing sandals which contained iron in the sole. He found it hard to walk up the mountain as his feet felt heavy and stuck to the rock face. Mount Ida was found to contain a rock called Lodestone, which is the first known magnetic mineral. It is reported that Lodestone was named Magnes after the boy who discovered it, and it later came to be known as magnet.

Cleopatra was probably the first celebrity to use magnets. It is documented that she slept on a Lodestone to keep her skin youthful. The therapeutic knowledge was passed to the Greeks who have been using magnets for healing since 2500 BC Aristotle and Plato talked of the benefits of Lodestones in their work.

Magnets have been used in Chinese medicine from around 2000 BC in-conjunction with reflexology and acupuncture. It is still used today as a first line treatment for many common complaints.3,500 years after they were first discovered, magnets have gained popularity in Europe and the USA. In the 15th century a Swiss physician Paracelsus recognised the therapeutic powers of magnets. He wrote medical papers on the influence of magnets on the inflammatory processes within the body.

In the 16th century an English doctor Dr William Gilbert made a scientific study of electricity and magnetism. He published one of the first books about magnetic therapy called “De Magnet”. Dr Gilbert was also Queens Elizabeth I personal physician and it is said that she used magnets under his direction.

Michael Faraday, also known as the founder of Biomagnetics made extensive discoveries in magnetic healing during the 18th century. His work is still used as a framework for modern day magnetic treatments. Dr Mesmer (the father of hypnotism) and Dr Samuel Hahnemann (the father of homoeopathy) also contributed to his remarkable work.

20th century pioneers include Dr Kreft a German doctor who in 1905 studied the healing effects of magnets on rheumatic disease, sciatica and neuralgia. 1926 revealed Dr Criles work on the impact of magnets on cancer cells and this was followed 10 years later in 1936 with Albert Davis carrying out tests on the effects of the north and south poles of a magnet.

However the last 15 years has shown a prolific increase in medical research into magnetic therapy. There have been over 57 studies in the USA into incurable diseases and magnetics. Some of the most recent are:

1990 – University if Hawaiitested magnetic fields on patients with osteoarthritis.
1992- Stiller et al a randomised double blind trial of wound healing in venous leg wounds.
1999- New York Medical College tested magnetic insoles on diabetic patients.
2001- Uneverstiy of Virginia tested magnetic mattress covers on patients with Fibromyalgia

2004- University of Exeter and Plymouth tested magnetic bracelets on patients with osteoarthritis.

Magnetic therapy is gaining in popularity worldwide with many celebrity devotees including: Cherie Blair, Bill Clinton, Anthony Hopkins, Prince William, Queen Elizabeth II, Shirley MaClaine, Venus Williams, Michael Jordan, Andre Agassi, Jack Niklaus and many more.

Magnetic devices are now registered as prescribable medical devices in 54 countries worldwide With new research being completed each year and doctors at last acknowledging that it is not “witch doctory” we shall hopefully see, with in the next few years, magnetic devices being prescribed on the NHS in-conjunction with conventional pain killing drugs.

By Debbie Shimadry
Chintyahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01280681068259293455noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5864147414535982445.post-26228353466350249282007-11-20T23:29:00.000-08:002010-07-10T06:51:45.143-07:00How Can Magnetic Therapy Relieve Sciatica ?
What is Sciatica?

The longest nerve in your body, the sciatic nerve runs from your pelvis through your hip area and buttocks and down each leg. It divides into the tibial and peroneal nerves at the level of your knees. The sciatic nerve controls many of the muscles in your lower legs and provides feeling to your thighs, legs and feet.

The term sciatica refers to pain that radiates along the path of this nerve, from your back into your buttock and leg. The discomfort can range from mild to incapacitating, and may be accompanied by tingling, numbness or muscle weakness. Rather than a disorder in and of itself sciatica is a symptom of another problem that puts pressure on the nerve.

What are the signs and symptoms of Sciatica?

Pain that radiates from your lower (lumbar) spine to your buttock and down the back of your leg is the hallmark of sciatica. You may feel the discomfort almost anywhere along the nerve pathway, but it's especially likely to follow one of these routes:
•From your lower back to your knee.
•From the mid buttock to the outside of your calf, the top of your foot and into the space between your last two toes.
•From the inside of your calf to your inner ankle and sole.

The pain can vary widely, from a mild ache to a sharp, burning sensation or excruciating discomfort. Sometimes it may feel like a jolt or electric shock. Sciatic pain often starts gradually and intensifies over time. It's likely to be worse when you sit, cough or sneeze. Usually only one lower extremity is affected.

In addition to pain, you may also experience:
•Numbness or muscle weakness along the nerve pathway in your leg or foot. In some cases, you may have pain in one part of your leg and numbness in another.
•Tingling or a pins-and-needles feeling. This occurs most commonly in your toes or part of your foot.
•A loss of bladder or bowel control. This is a sign of cauda equina syndrome, a rare but serious condition that requires emergency care. If you experience either of these symptoms, seek medical help immediately.

Magnetic therapy for sciatica.

Sciatica can resolve by itself but this can take many weeks or even months. You can however quite rapidly reduce the symptoms of sciatica with magnets. As with all magnetic therapy treatments, the magnets have to be placed as close to the area of pain as possible, this will be the lower (lumbar) region of the back. Even though you may have pain down your legs or in your buttocks the cause is still in the lower back. When you treat the back area and the sciatica resolves then the pain running down the leg and buttocks will also dissipate.

There are really only 2 magnetic therapy devices that are effective in treating sciatica:

1.A magnetic therapy back strap or support. The functional straps and supports can be placed directly over the area of pain. If the sciatica is very low in the back then a narrow strap will be more practical and altogether more comfortable than a wide support, as it fits snugly around the hip area and will stay over the compressed nerve. A wider support is effective if the sciatic pain is higher and nearer to the waist area. As with all magnets the straps/supports need to be worn for 24 hours and 7 days a week until the pain has gone.

2.A Magnetic therapy pillow pad. If for any reason what so ever you cannot wear a back belt or support the only alternative is to use a pad placed under your back in bed at night. It can also be used during the day when sitting or lying down (even in the car). You will not have 24 hours 7 day a week exposure to the magnets but if you cannot wear a strap this is an acceptable alternative as long as it is used every might when the body is at its most receptive to magnetic healing.

When magnetic therapy is used in-conjunction with deep penetrating massage and cold/ice therapy, the symptoms of sciatica can be resolved in just a few days. Massage will relax the muscles that have gone into spasm around the trapped nerve, the cold or ice will help reduce the inflammation and heat around the injury and both of these will prepare the tissues and muscles, so that the magnetic field can penetrate more quickly into the damaged area. Massage and ice therapy can be used 3-4 times a day for approximately 10 minutes at a time.

By Debbie Shimadry
Chintyahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01280681068259293455noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5864147414535982445.post-18803596148229956992007-11-20T23:24:00.000-08:002010-07-10T06:51:21.684-07:00What is Magnetic Therapy?
Historically it is reported that magnets have been around for an extremely long time. Magnets were first documented around 2500-3000 years BC. Magnets have been used in Chinese medicine from around 2000 BC in-conjunction with reflexology and acupuncture. It is still used today as a first line treatment for many common complaints. However the last 15 years has shown a prolific increase in medical research into magnetic therapy. There have been over 57 studies in the USA into incurable diseases and magnetics.

Science has discovered that a magnetic field over and around the point of pain increases blood flow in the effected area. The blood contains iron and when therapeutic magnets are placed on the skin the magnetic field penetrates through the skin and into the surrounding tissues and blood stream. The iron in the blood is attracted to the magnetic field, this causes movement within the blood stream and the increased activity causes the blood flow to improve. This increased blood flow carries with it greater quantities of oxygen, vital nutrients, and especially endorphins which relieve and soon remove and alleviate the pain.

When static magnets are placed over an area of inflammation, the magnetic field penetrates through the skin and deep into the tissues and blood stream. Damaged cells will react to the presence of a magnetic field by realigning their ions into the correct position. This begins the process of eliminating the excess fluid from within the cell. Cell damage will stop and healing of the cells will begin over a period of days. In real terms the effects of these magnets will reduce pain and discomfort in and around the area that they are placed.

The truth is, magnets need to be placed directly over the area of pain to have an effect. Unfortunately you can not treat the whole of your body with just one magnet. Magnets do not block the pain signal. They work on the cause of the pain, which is why static magnets have to placed as close to the point of pain as possible. In short, wherever your pain is located you must place the magnets within that area or the very close proximity.

The pain reducing effects will remain for as long as the magnets remain in place, thus reducing the need for other analgesics.

Best of all, magnets are natural, contain no drugs or chemicals and have no known side effects. Magnets leave a lasting and deeply beneficial reduction of painful symptoms for 82% of users that will stay with them for as long as they continue to use them.

Research studies have shown magnets to be effective in 82% of cases and have demonstrated benefits in the following conditions:

Arthritis, Osteoporosis, Spondylosis, Fibromyalgia, general joint pain, muscular pain, M.S., stroke, insomnia, migraine, stress, depression, bowel disorders, Diabetes, high blood pressure and poor circulation.
Chintyahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01280681068259293455noreply@blogger.com0
